A link for a slow weekend

Two sports are locked out, my baseball team is an embarrassment and my hockey teams is boring, so I thought I would introduce you to a site that has become a recent favorite of mine... It is entitled "Animals Being Dicks". To summarize, it is essentially animals representing how Jim Souhan treats Delmon Young. To wit:
Oh animals. Being dicks like that.

This is what happens when you spend life using your feet.

Just over the crossbar. (Gary Neville is a soccer player, if you didn't catch that)

A lazy cop out post

I'm posting fairly late tonight, because I'm a delinquent. Anyways, since you will undoubtedly have something informative and fun to read from Beth, I don't want to disappoint you with my abysmal attempt at something clever. Anyways, here's a video of Manny Ramirez playing cricket.

A warning post.

This post is mostly a warning. Next week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be having a three part college football post that's going to be positively epic. EPIC. So, I figured I should probably throw up a post regarding another sport or two that you might like to read about. The problem is, however, that I've been working too many 2-10 shifts and have been missing everything. I'm completely out of the loop. So, instead, I will send you to some places with good, solid, important information.

For Hockey, there is the esteemed Barry Melrose Rocks, getting ready for the trading deadline, with some rumor pointers.

Speaking of rumors... heard any good Johan Santana rumors lately? Oh, the Mets now? I like that idea. I would make a trade with the Mets while demanding less than I would from the Red Sox or Yankees or any other AL team. But that's just me.

Goose Gossage was voted into the Hall of Fame. I really don't care who is in and who is out. I do care about Fire Joe Morgan and their take on everything.

There are several other sports that I didn't get around to linking to a good blog for. Hopefully you will find them on your own. (By the way, your winners this weekend are going to be the Jags, Colts, Cowboys and Packers)

We can dance!

So, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I wanted to hop in and make a couple notes before Beth posts in the morning, just because a couple things need to be said. First, Steve sent me a message quoting his dad on the topic of the Motor City Bowl. "Brock Spack = IDIOT". I don't think I can add anything.

Second, Kentucky blog Sea of Blue took Patrick Reusse to task for some incorrect wording involving a couple recruits. The problem, of course, is that it was Kentucky taking Reusse to task, and not, say, Minnesota.

Speaking of Minnesota, check out the blog "From the Barn." I know the writer, so it must be good. Right?

Lastly, Christmas morning, I took a spill on the ice and came down hard on the left side. The end result? Sprained rotator cuff. So pretty much, I'm J.C. Romero now. I can't pitch with my left hand (rimshot). Had I just done the Safety Dance, perhaps I would have been more careful.

Two brief notes

In the wide world of the internet, I found two things that captured my attention. First, how about that Mitchell Report, huh? Everyone on their is a bunch of hosers! Not so, says Where Have You Gone, Andy Van Slyke? They point out that former Pirate Kevin Young only started taking his steroids AFTER signing a huge contract with the Pirates. It's sort of admirable that Young tried to fulfull his end of the contract. Sort of.

In other news, George Parros is shaving his mustache and cutting his hair. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that could make this better is ice cream

Since I have a gigantic announcement* tomorrow, and Steve put up an excellent post yesterday, I don't really feel like getting myself worked up enough to write anything riveting today. Instead, I will point you in the direction of 3 other excellent reads/stories worth taking a look at if you get some free time today.

First, Doug Mientkiewicz lost a battle with a cameraman before yesterdays game. Hard to believe he was injured there, but not, say, in this picture.

Epic Carnival is continuing their battle to see what the coolest jersey in sports is. Presently, it's that of the Minnesota Wild. But wait! They don't use that jersey anymore! See? This is why I don't like the lame red one they have opted for now. It's not even close to as cool as the old green.

Lastly, Bugs and Cranks wonders which Ryan Howard had the worst week. "Ryan is like a fake brother who steals your jeans."

*Not actually gigantic
