Will someone feed Guillaume Latendresse

Michael Russo was either using clever word play in his headline, or Guillaume Latendresse could use a bite to eat.

An exchange of ideas with Michael Rand

Earlier today, Kurt Rambis was fired by the Timberwolves, which obviously caught the attention of local sports writers. Michael Rand, writer of Randball at the Star Tribune was kind enough to exchange a few tweets with me, but it all started with this fun fact from the Strib's Judd Zulgad
(@JuddZulgad) Leslie Frazier now has 2nd-longest tenure of 4 pro men's coaches in Minnesota. Frazier has yet to coach a game without interim tag.
Rand replied to Zulgad: (@RandBall if Twins had played for past 35 games like they did their first 54, might Frazier be No. 1 on that list?
I then jumped in, and Rand and I fleshed out our ideas at 140 characters or less. Keep in mind, Tweets that start @whomever are actually from the other person.

Something or other about fog

This is screen cap from the Star Tribune last night. It's either about Justin Morneau's concussion, or the editor has a concussion. Either way, there was probably a head injury involved. At least this was quickly seen and corrected. Or... wait, second most viewed.

Hey, someone noticed something I noticed

I was reading the Thursday paper (Star Tribune) earlier and came across the Twins Team Notes. In the ETC. subheading, they talk about something I had noted back when the Twins were hunting for starting pitchers. Doesn't it seem like the Twins are missing more balls hit to the outfield?
Why yes they are. Rather than looking in depth and seeing that, yes, the outfielders are less efficient this year, they decided to ask Gardenhire if this was a case, since he is also the new team statistician. Gardenhire said that he "didn't see a problem that needed to be addressed". To some degree, I agree with him, but on another, it's a little complicated.
Of course, he did also say that the problem was communication and not that, say, Jason Kubel in the outfield is dragging an anchor out there, so maybe not everyone gets the problem. This will require some further investigation, i.e. not at a time that is 2AM.

I can't believe I missed this!

Paul Walsh of the Star Tribune is presenting us with the news that Craig Kilborn is coming back to the air. 5 years ago, he was pretty funny, but since then, John Stewart and Craig Ferguson who took over his previous jobs, have made those shows better and far more entertaining. The shine has come off, frankly, and now anyone (if there is anyone) who reflects on him remembers him more as arrogant and standoffish, rather than as a brilliant comedian.
But that's not the real story. No no. The real story is this:
In October, the longtime Wolves fan and family friend of head coach Kurt Rambis attended a game at Target Center.
Wow! Thanks Mr. Walsh! That is important to know!
