The Oregon Ducks continue to annoy

For those that don't remember, I have taken issue with the atrocious number of uniforms the University of Oregon parades out there every season. For most of this season, they have mixed and matched their previous uniform incarnations, black, green, yellow and white jerseys and pants, with green yellow and white helmets. They have managed to wear a different uniform every time they have taken the field so far this year. I wouldn't make too much of this, except for the fact, that, well.... they wore this abomination against Arizona yesterday:

Last time I made fun of Oregon for their uniform ADD, I got a lot of hate mail. But seriously, if they keep doing stuff like this, I'm left with no choice.

A few comments about this jersey:

- If there is a part of the duck to emphasize, it's not the delicate wings on the shoulder pads. Maybe the beak? Or the flipper feet?

- The silver makes it pretty

- I would much rather see all black than all yellow, so at least there's that.

Now, if you have mean things to say about me (or would like to defend Oregon), by all means, tell all the world in the comments. Or e-mail me. I would love to hear from you.

We've decided that weekly uniform changes are our "Tradition".

Are you making fun of our Tradition?!

You don't mess with a school's tradition, Dude.

I'm 49 and I love the new uniforms. The difference between UofO black and OSU black is we make black look good!

Its funny everyone hates on Oregon for getting new unis. but that is just how it works out. I think a lot of people dislike Oregon because our highest contributing booster is the founder of Nike. Many people don't know that he started here, went to school here, ran here, even started Nike here. Just because the man loves Oregon and our athletics doesn't mean everyone should dislike us. Oh and the jerseys are sick.

While I disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it (Family Guy).

Just remember, if you don't like Oregon's uniforms, just wait two seasons.

Uh, Voltaire said, "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." It's not a Family Guy quote.

I have to say that as a long time Duck fan, and season ticket holder. I was really taken back when I first say the photo of the jersey hanging on a hanger that was floating around the internet prior to the game. However, after seeing them in person actually on the the player with the feathers on top of the shoulder pads, they did look good. The players were pumped, and put up a 45 spot in the first half, too, which didn't suck.
I did also read that the feathers actually had a function, too. In order to make the jersey lighter, they used a material for the feathers to strengthen the shoulder pad area that tends to wear quicker with the lighter and weaker material that the jersey is made of.
It does seem that a variety of uniforms has become "Tradition" here at oregon, and players and kids seem to like it, so by all means keep talking about it.

Makes the jersey's lighter with feathers? I really dont think any DI football players will notice .5 ounces off their jersey. And the rate Oregon goes through jerseys, I doubt they are worrying about the shoulders wearing out.

Lets just leave it that Oregon likes getting cool new unis whenever they can

Meanwhile, the football team's Graduation Success Rate is 54% (avg is 67 for D1 teams). Way to go guys.

Please these new uniforms were awesome, I don't get why they would "annoy" you, oregon has HANDS DOWN the best and most creative uniforms in all of college football and for this we have Uncle Phil (Phil Knight) to thank. I don't know anyone that doesn't think U of O has the best uniforms in the nation. You just don't get it we don't have tradition like USC, Bama, Texas and Penn St, like the first poster said, our tradition is being untraditional and I am all for it

Ummm. no. With 20ish guys per class, that means 9 out of every class don't graduation. I can't name anyone other than J Stewart who left early for the pros. Enlighten me. If they have had 20 Juniors go early, then they have severly underachieved.

The super dark green, matte helmets are the best in college football hands down.

Plus, these unis are made from Cordura and carbon fibers, making them 35% lighter than other unis and water repellent. So, it's not all for show.

The graduation rate is not only a result of drafting, but also transfers - when a player transfers it counts against the APR.

Ducks jersey looks like a rip-off of another great Nike jersey - the 25th Anniversary jersey of the Portland Winterhawks!!!

Sorry guys, love the Ducks but... No they are not the best uniforms in college football, not even close. The best they had was back in the days when Oregon was good - Onterrio Smith, Joey Harrington, Maurice Morris. The Robo-Duck unis were sick, but everything since has missed the mark. Not horrible at all, but nowhere close to the best in the nation. AND the grad rate is NOT low for any reason involving the NFL first round, are you f'in serious? Jonathan Stewart, Joey Harrington - That's IT. Moron.

you forgot haloti Ngata, igor olshansky was 2nd round but left early. I guess your 54% beats 1/3 of the big 10, or are you a conference usa fan?

Um helllllllloooooo, nobody gives a fuck that one of your boosters is Nike moron, cuz Nike sponsors OSU as well. duh. It's cuz you guys are obnoxious bitches with nothing to back it up with. Stop worrying about your uniforms and start worrying about your damn games. How many national titles have you won again? Oh yeah, NONE.

I believe this thread began as a comment on the new Duck uniform, which in my opininon is great. But that is what it is, MY OPINON. There is absolutly no reason for everyone to become so defensive, dropping the F Bomb, or calling someone who is a very sucessiful business man a moron just because he supports the Ducks. There is no reason to get personal, it is after all just a uniform, and in my OPINION they are great!

The fact that you losers are arguing about Oregon's uniforms is complete trash. Their uniforms are trash, the team sucks, and the fans suck too since they are taking offense to someone saying the uniforms are horrid.

and why do i care what you think of my alma mater's football uniforms, frankly i think it shows your lack of style and flair for something different than anyone else is doing today. Who says you have to stay the same, and the wings on the jersey, they are "steel", duh, go figure. as a grad of Oregon i am proud of their accomplishments over the last 25 years, and may the school keep improving both in education and in sports
