Links of the Day 1/18/09

Baseball changes tiebreaking rule, whiny White Sox writer blames Minnesota.

I don't listen to ESPN radio, but, well....great?

A Providence player's brother would like a word with the officials.

I really don't get the blog post criticizing the change. Baseball is a game that involves a lot of luck. And certainly, winning a season series can involve plenty of luck. But it does give those games between teams battling for the division a very small amount of added value. And why shouldn't a team be rewarded for winning the season series? It may or may not reward the truly better team, but it does the best that baseball can do, given its constraints.
