The Twins, once again, in it to the end

Color me surprised. Just when the Twins seemed all but dead (and I definitely wrote them off) new life was breathed into them with a confluence of fortuitous events. The Tigers had a stunning collapse, Jon Rauch and Ron Mahay were added to an anemic and worn out bull pen, and most of all, Michael Cuddyer, Jason Kubel and Delmon Young started bashing the brains out of the ball.
Just like the Twins, I had written off Cuddyer as well as an unnecessary expense at the beginning of the year. Now, after a career year, his 8 million dollar salary looks like a bargain. Cuddyer is the longest tenured Twin, hard to believe as that is, and is playing like he wants to win a championship. Over the course of his career, and this is only apparent in retrospect, the Twins have been at their best when Cuddyer is in the line up and playing well.
So good on you, Twins, and it surprises me to say this now, but it's great to have you aboard Cuddy. We'll see you on Tuesday!

(P.S. People who give Gardenhire credit don't know what they are talking about, but I am gleeful and will give them a pass)
